Czech Technical University in Prague (Czech České vysoké učení technické v Praze) is the oldest technical university in Central Europe and the main technical university in the Czech Republic, founded in 1707.
CTU is one of the largest universities in Europe, and in 2014 it was recognized as the best technical university in the Czech Republic. In the world ranking of technical universities, CTU takes 156 place. In the academic year 2017/2018, the university implemented 128 study programs in Czech language and 87 in English. Graduates of the university are many well-known European scientists, including Christian Doppler, Vladimir Prelogi and others.

The faculty is one of the first and oldest faculties of CTU and by the number of students and other parameters of its work among the largest faculties in Prague. The main attention at the faculty is paid to the experimental study of building materials, structures and training in these areas. The faculty is a member of many international and European organizations, such as: EUCEET Association - The European Civil Engineering Education And Training Association, RILEM - International Union of Laboratories and Experts in Construction Materials, Systems and Structures, ELGIP - European Large Geotechnical Institutes Platform, etc.

Faculty of Mechanical Engineering CTU is the oldest engineering faculty in the Czech Republic, offering training in all areas of engineering education.
A number of scientific and educational centers newly established at the faculty, which work in the light of the main scientific achievements, e.g. the Josef Bozek Centre of Competence for Engine and Automotive Engineering, the Centre of Competence for Mechanical Engineering Production Technology, the Centre of Competence for Advanced Technologies for the Production of Heating and Electricity, ICDAM (Innovative Diagnostic Center and the use of materials) - achieved a worldwide reputation.
A model of comprehensive structured training has been introduced, which ensures the quality of knowledge gained and the excellent position of graduates of this faculty in the labor market.

Since 1993, the faculty has been creating unique research centers where project training is carried out, in which project education is closely connected with a practical focus in order to solve pressing problems in the field of transportation.
The Faculty of Transportation has accredited a coherent education programme in intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Integrated Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) curriculum and is one of the few faculties in the world to have this curriculum in the training course. The ITS program is closely related to practice and is taught only in English, which allows students to continue their studies at famous foreign universities (University of Texas, UAS Fachhochschule Technikum Wien).
The Faculty of Transport has a high percentage of grants, which indicates a high level of expertise of projects carried out at the faculty.
Graduates of the faculty participate in major national and international projects and occupy important posts in the private and public sectors.

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering is famous for the range and number of areas of study, as well as the strong link informatics with teaching electrical engineering and electronics.
The faculty offers students double-degree programs, with the opportunity to get a double degree or joint degree with a foreign partner university. A number of educational programs focus on technical and managerial areas, graduates of these specialties occupy senior positions in existing enterprises and in governmental and private institutions.
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering is the only one in the Czech Republic that carries out student exchanges with the prestigious Israel Institute of Technology - Technion.

The Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering offers a wide range of fields of study. Many areas of research and disciplines are unique - the faculty presents not only the disciplines of nuclear physics, but also, for example, physics and thermonuclear fusion, radiological physics and others. Thanks to exchange programs, the faculty enables students to study at major universities, attend and speak at conferences in their chosen specialization.
The faculty is constantly improving working conditions, especially for young scientists (new facilities, high-quality laboratories, support for participation in international collaborative programmes, etc.). It also introduces new areas of research. The main thing in training is a focus on practical requirements, which is implemented in close cooperation with private companies and industry.

It is the only faculty of architecture in the Czech Republic and offers 3 study programmes: architecture and urbanism, landscape architecture and design. The programmes include all industries in the field of designing buildings, settlements, territories, landscapes and industrial design.

The faculty is the only state higher educational institution in the Central Bohemian Region, based on an interdisciplinary concept of the interaction of technology and medicine.
The faculty conducts research in the field of nanotechnology for medicine - new types of biocompatible thin layers ( surfaces for implants, stents) are being developed.
The faculty has more than 30 laboratories equipped with modern laboratory equipment for experimental teaching and research, including laboratories simulating the environments of emergency departments and intensive care in hospitals, which are considered unique in the field of biomedical engineering in the Czech Republic.
The faculty presents an extensive educational base for future biomedical technicians and medical engineers, including a completу unique set of medical safety devices from leading manufacturers, as well as analyzers and simulators of selected physiological subsystems or parameters and, no less important, a unique real model control and monitoring systems MEDICS.

The Faculty of Information Technology is a member of organizations such as the International Association for Cryptographic Research, EUROMICRO, The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. The main task of the faculty is to provide high-quality technical education in the main areas of informatics with an emphasis on information and communication technologies, as well as researches and scientific and technical developments with leading European faculties of Research in computer sciences.
